July 15, 1999 Coalition For A Drug-Free Hawaii 1130 North Nimitz Highway, A259 Honolulu, HI 96817 Dear Friends: The purpose of this letter is to bring an awareness of the Fellowship of Narcotics Anonymous in Hawaii to your organization. We hope to create an understanding of our Fellowship so that if you feel our program may be of benefit to you, or to the people you serve, you will know how to contact us for further information. Narcotics Anonymous is a non-profit fellowship of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. We are recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other to stay clean. Ours is a program of complete abstinence from all drugs. We are concerned with the disease of addiction and recovery from that disease; an addict's choice of drug (or drugs) is unimportant to us. We've enclosed a sampling of our literature for your examination so you may better understand our program. We also include a current meeting schedule for the island of Oahu. Please use our literature and meeting directory for referral to our program. A literature order form is enclosed from our World Service Office in Los Angeles, California, if you wish to purchase more literature for your use. You may make copies of our meeting directory to distribute. Our meeting directory is updated on a regular basis and can be acquired by request through the contact information provided below or through the Internet at our website: Oahu Public Information Subcommittee P.O. Box 89636 Honolulu, Hawaii 96830 Helpline: (808) 734-4357 http://www.na-hawaii.org/ If you desire a presentation to your staff, please contact us four week before your requested date and we will do our best to accommodate you. Thank you for your time and we hope that we may be of some the opportunity to be of service to you, your group or organization. Sincerely, Erik Rogers Chairperson, Oahu Public Information Subcommittee Encls: (5) Welcome to NA NA - A Resource in Your Community Who, What, How and Why Am I an Addict? Oahu Meeting Directory
